Barringer Crater United States of America

Barringer Crater is an Arizona natural landmark that has been left off the beaten trail, unspoiled by the millions of tourists who drive through Arizona's red sands for the world-famous Grand Canyon and to photograph dunes covered in saguaro cacti. Barringer Crater can be visited outside of Phoenix, on the way to the Grand Canyon. This crater is humbling for its sheer size and depth, which can be admired from far away through telescopes and binoculars. Visitors may also enjoy the meteor museum near the crater, which features a terrifying computer simulation where one can digitally create different sized meteors and test their hypothetical effects on a pre-historic earth.
