Plitvice Lakes National Park is the earliest national reserve in southeast Europe and it is one of Croatia's finest oases. Glittering dragonflies, cascading waterfalls and moss-covered boulders look like they came straight of a story book. The lake itself is a turguoise jewel in boundless tree-covered mountains. Many streams and waterfalls carve through these timeless ancient rocks to bubble over the lake, which is also home to ducks, birds, fish, bears and other forest creatures. Imagine the tranquility of sitting next to one of these boulders and finding time to relax.
