Purple Bamboo Park China

Visitors to Beijing can’t miss the classic Purple Bamboo Park. The park is well known for the acres of dark green, purple and black bamboo trees, which have been growing for centuries nearby. The park measures over 100 acres, and even contains three lakes occupied by two islands. Locals can be seen enjoying a stroll in the park or exercising together. Ming dynasty politicians built up the Zizhuyuan temple on one of these lakes, and after a renovation it is open to the public today. The Bayixuan Pavilion is remarkable for its lotus pond and thousands of bamboo trees. The park is a classic Chinese garden with its water feature, bamboo, and mountain features, but it is unique for its many bamboo.
