Sala Keoku sculpture park, Thailand Thailand

Sala Keoku, is a park featuring giant fantastic concrete sculptures inspired by Buddhism and Hinduism. It is located near Nong Khai, Thailand in immediate proximity of the Thai-Lao border and the Mekong river. Sala Keoku, also sometimes spelt as Sala Kaew Ku and referred to in English as the Buddha Park, is perhaps one of the most bizarre attractions in all of Thailand. Built in the late 1970s using donated concrete and voluntary labourers, the enormous and unusual statues were the idea of a man called Bunleua Sulilat.
