The Sam Kee Building in Vancouver, British Columbia of Canada is truly one of the most unique buildings in the world. Less than a decade after the Sam Kee company purchased city property, the City of Vancouver widened the nearby street, making the building impractical for business use. In protest of the municipal action, the business owner commissioned a four-foot wide steel building overhanging the street. Today pedestrians walk underneath the red-painted building and even parallel park their vehicles. If business or pleasure ever brings you to the industrial town of Vancouver, it is definitely worthwhile to visit the skinniest building in the world.
