Taoranting Park China

The name of Taoranting Park translates to “Joyful Pavilion,” taking its name from an ancient poet’s reflection on the bliss of admiring spring chrysanthemums with home-made wine and a companion. The park has centuries-old buildings but was renovated in 1952, making it Beijing’s first modern park and a must-see for the traveler who enjoys a quieter oasis off the beaten path. The park features natural ponds, gardens, and over 35 traditional Chinese pavilions that draw inspiration from dynastics and regions all across China. Visitors can enjoy fishing, paddle-boating, or simply relaxing in pavilions such as the splendid Immerse-in Moonbeam Pavilion.
