Oklahoma is famous as the land of vast plains and endless skies. In the southern portion of this mid-western state, visitors can check out the Museum of Osteology. The first sight within the museum is a collection of newly acquired skulls and bones being “cleaned” by beetles. Step inside the museum and see a fascinating collection of complete skeletons of many different animals and creatures, from whales to woodland creatures to different kinds of big cats. The skeletons are posed in a variety of interesting life-like positions, allowing the viewer to truly appreciate the importance of the skeleton for all creatures.
